As with all skin products, it is important to use the product according to the user manual. Incorrect use/too high a level may cause skin reactions, burns, discolouration or blisters.
It is important to choose the intensity level based on your skin type when doing your treatment Start at the lower recommended level, and increase the strength gradually provided you do not experience any redness or discomfort.
As with all light-based treatments, IPL sends light wavelengths into the skin, which during hair-removal is directed to the pigment of the hair. The light in then absorbed by the pigment in the hair, the light then turns into heat which kills the cells that produce the hair, without any pain.
Our device has an energy output of 1.7J-4.9J/cm2 which is optimal for secure hair-removal. The energy output is also approved for home usage.
The Mandy IPL has 300,000 flash impulses. Our IPL machines normally lasts for more than 10 years active usage.
While IPL treatment is an easy, effective hair removal method for some, it unfortunately isn’t suitable for darker tones of skin. This is because melanin pigments aren’t just in our hair – they’re also present in the skin, too.
Darker skin contains more melanin than fair skin. If you use some IPL devices onto melanin-rich, dark skin, the IPL could transfer heat energy onto the skin cells, causing discoloration.
IPL as a technology works best on darker hair colors. People with lighter hair colors such as red, gray and very blond (white) hair, we advise not using IPL as a hair removal method. This is because very light hair does not contain enough melanin to carry light down to the root, while red hair contains another type of melanin that does not respond as well to IPL treatments.
It is possible to see results with blond hair, but more treatments may be needed than for people with darker hair before results can be achieved.
Both IPL and lasers use intense light to put hair roots into a resting phase, i.e. both are permanent hair removal procedures. The difference lies in the type of light. IPL uses a broad spectrum of white light resulting in a more gentler treatment for your skin and works better on light skin. Laser is monochromatic and non-divergent, meaning that it is more intense and targeted which enables dark skin treatments.

You can use Mandy Skin IPL on all parts of your body.Remember to always close your eyes if you use IPL on your face and you should avoid using your IPL on extra-sensitive areas such as the genitals, nipples, or anus.
We recommend that you use your Mandy IPL once a week for the first 12 weeks. Once that period is completed once a month for the coming 3 months. To maintain the result we recommend you to use your Mandy IPL every 2-3 months or as needed. IPL is effective in the growing phase of the hair cycle, and therefore using it more than once a week is unnecessary.
No, using it more than once a week will not improve the results, but may cause the results to be less than expected and irritate the skin.
No, that is not necessary. Our product is equipped with a sensor that will make sure that the flash window is in full contact with the skin before activating. This will help make sure that your eyes will be protected during the treatment. However, do not to look directly into the flash.if you still think the lightning is strong, put on a pair of sunglasses during the treatment just in case!
Men can use Mandy from the shoulders down (chest, back, arms, abdomen and legs). The device should not be used on the face, neck or genital area. Using it on men's beard or facial hair may lead to uneven results.
The Mandy IPL system is not waterproof. Any contact with water may damage your equipment. Therefore, do not use the Mandy system while taking a shower or bath. Also, make sure your skin is completely dry before using the Mandy IPL system.
For "Intense Pulsed Light" (IPL) treatment to be successful, the Mandy light must reach the root of the hair. The pulses heat the pigment (melanin) in the root and stimulate the hair follicle to enter a resting phase. As a result, the hair is naturally shed and regrowth is prevented.
Visible hair on the skin may prevent the pulses from reaching the root.
What happens if I don't remove the hair before using Mandy?
If you use IPL while you still have hair on your skin, the light may burn it. Damage to the device and an unpleasant odor may occur.
Safety and Health Questions
It is important to understand that all types of IPL/laser hair removal, salon or at-home, means that there is a certain amount of maintenance needed after the treatment. After completed treatment, maintenance is only needed once every third month to maintain the smooth, hairless result.
You should not use the device directly on tattoos since the dark inc attracts the light energy. This can cause a skin reaction and blistering. Please go around your tattoos.
We do not recommend Mandy IPL as a treatment during pregnancy nor while breast-feeding.
Before using Mandy IPL you must remove any artificial and self-tanning products from your skin, as the light energy may be more attracted to the pigments in the skin rather than the melanin in the hair.
If you have recently sunbathed, we recommend that you wait 2 weeks before using the device. You should wait 48 hours to sunbathe after using your handset. The same goes for the solarium. We recommend that you remove all artificial tan before using MandySkin, as the light energy may be more attracted to the pigments in the skin rather than the melanin in the hair. You can apply your artificial tan again after your treatment.
Dark skin contains a lot of melanin and may absorb more light than recommended, which could cause damage.
No, it is not recommended to use our Mandy IPL if you are under 18 years old.
Troubleshooting Questions
Verify that the device contains a full reservoir of liquid and that the battery is fully charged. Gently open and close the front cover. Allow some time for the mist to circulate through the device. Hold the device in a vertical position.
Often the result of an uneven spray is that the machine needs to be cleaned or that you spray too close to your body. We recommend that you should keep a 15 cm distance from your body. Spray slowly
It depends on how much and how often you apply.
